The Nebraska Game & Parks Commission is seeking a qualified bidder to provide Cedar Tree Clearing for Firebreaks at Wapiti WMA. The project involves removing trees, primarily eastern red cedar, to facilitate safe and efficient prescribed burns. The contractor will be required to maintain constant communication with the biologist responsible for the project.
• The project will take place in the Loess Canyons, which are difficult terrain to navigate due to the ruggedness and steepness of the sidehills and associated canyon bottoms.
• The contractor must remove trees according to the specifications in Attachment A.
• The area must be cleared of cedar trees and downed woody debris.
• If work does not meet the specifications, the contractor will be asked to return to the site and complete the job to the specifications.
