The California State University, Dominguez Hills is seeking a qualified Design‑Builder to deliver a two‑phased collaborative design‑build project for an 8,000 SF concrete‑masonry building that will house the Marvyn M. Dymally African American Political & Economic Institute. The contractor will partner with a pre‑selected architect, provide design and pre‑construction services (Phase 1) and then execute construction (Phase 2) under a separate agreement. The project is funded with a direct construction budget of $11 M and includes requirements for small‑business bid advantages, DVBE participation, prevailing‑wage compliance, and enrollment in CSU insurance programs. • Scope: New 8,000 SF CMU building with gallery, offices, conference room, auditorium, courtyard, and support spaces. • Delivery: Modified collaborative design‑build – Phase 1 (design & pre‑construction) then Phase 2 (construction). • Requirements: Class B contractor license, pre‑qualification submission ≥10 business days before SOQ deadline, small‑business 5 % bid advantage (max $50k), minimum 3 % DVBE participation, compliance with CSU BRIP/OCIP insurance, and California prevailing‑wage registration.
