The District of Columbia Public Charter School Board (DC PCSB) is seeking a Data Analytics Engineer to provide services for PostgreSQL databases hosted on Amazon Web Services and Python code stored in GitLab. The selected contractor will work as an embedded member of the Data Analytics Products scrum team, ensuring continuity of data infrastructure and product delivery. The engineer will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining automated ETL/ELT pipelines using Airflow, SQL, and Python, as well as maintaining the existing cloud-based Data Warehouse and Mart in PostgreSQL on AWS. Key responsibilities include: • Providing engineering expertise to maintain and extend DC PCSB’s data pipelines, warehouse, and infrastructure • Ensuring reliability, efficiency, and security of data workflows that support analytic products and reporting • Embedding within the scrum team and contributing to Agile rituals, sprint deliverables, and shared team culture • Designing, implementing, and maintaining automated ETL/ELT pipelines using Airflow, SQL, and Python • Maintaining the existing cloud-based Data Warehouse and Mart in PostgreSQL on AWS The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of experience building ETL/ELT pipelines with SQL and Python, as well as experience with workflow orchestration in Airflow and familiarity with CI/CD and containerization using Docker.
