Description
The State of North Dakota’s Department of Public Instruction is seeking a single commercial distributor/contractor to provide large‑scale, temperature‑controlled warehousing and transportation services for USDA food commodities destined for schools, tribal reservations, and other nutrition programs across the state. The contractor must maintain at least 33,000 sq ft of combined dry, refrigerated, and freezer space, operate a fleet of temperature‑controlled trucks, manage inventory through the State‑run NDFoods system, and comply with extensive reporting, insurance, and food‑recall procedures. The contract is a firm‑fixed‑price award valued up to $1.8 M per year, with a 12‑month base term and up to four optional 12‑month renewals.
• Provide ≥ 24 000 sq ft dry, 2 000 sq ft refrigerated and 7 000 sq ft freezer storage (total ≈ 33 000 sq ft).
• Operate 3‑5 temperature‑controlled 40‑ft reefer trucks delivering to all SCH, FDPIR, CSFP, and TEFAP sites per the current zone/route structure.
• Maintain monthly inventory, full fiscal‑year inventory, and daily temperature logs; submit required reports within specified timeframes.
• Carry required insurance (≥ $894 k inventory coverage, general liability, auto liability, workers’ comp) and meet all licensing, de‑barment, and USDA compliance requirements.
