The National Institutes of Health (NIH) is seeking applications for the INCLUDE Project: Exploratory/Developmental Research Awards for Down syndrome. This funding opportunity aims to improve the health and quality of life for individuals with Down syndrome by supporting new exploratory and developmental research projects. The projects should address critical needs for Down syndrome, as articulated in the INCLUDE Project objectives. Examples of such projects include assessing the feasibility of a novel area of investigation, using an existing methodology to explore a new scientific area, or developing novel techniques, agents, methodologies, models, or applications.
• The application should include a Data Management and Sharing Plan, outlining how scientific data and accompanying metadata will be managed and shared.
• The plan should describe data types, file formats, submission timelines, and standards used in collecting or processing the data.
• The application should also include an Institutional Certification, which indicates the data use limitations and/or modifiers stating how individual level sequence data can be shared with and used by secondary users.
• The INCLUDE Project encourages the use of standardized data classes, data elements, and associated vocabulary standards, such as the United States Core Data for Interoperability (USCDI) standards.
