Description

The Department of Veterans Affairs, Network Contracting Office 15 (NCO 15), is seeking sources that can provide the Coronary Shockwave Intravascular Lithotripsy system. This technology is designed to prepare severely calcified coronary lesions for stenting by cracking calcium in a safe and predictable manner. The system should include a generator and connector cable kit, as well as various catheters. The equipment must meet specific salient characteristics, including power requirements, dimensions, and output specifications. • The system must be compatible with an IV pole and have a male key distally designed to connect only to the catheter. • The lithotripsy pulsing must be activated by pushing a button on the connector cable. • The equipment must have a five-year manufacturer's warranty. • The place of performance is the Kansas City VA Medical Center. The purpose of this notice is for market research purposes only, to obtain information regarding the availability of specified products and to identify potential sources capable of providing these products. Responses to this notice will be used by the government to make appropriate acquisition decisions.

Budget estimate

$500,000 – $2,000,000

Given the complexity and specialized nature of the Coronary Shockwave Intravascular Lithotripsy system, it is likely that the budget for this contract will be substantial. The system's components, including the generator and connector cable kit, as well as the various catheters, are highly specialized medical devices. The fact that the document specifies a five-year manufacturer's warranty also suggests a significant investment in the equipment. A rough estimate for the budget could be in the range of $500,000 to $2 million, considering the cost of similar medical equipment and the scope of the project. However, this is a very rough estimate and the actual budget could be higher or lower, depending on various factors such as the number of units required, the manufacturer's pricing, and any additional services or support that may be included in the contract.
