Industry Day - Centrifuge Planetary Drive

The Air Force Research Laboratories (AFRL) is seeking a contractor to modernize or replace the existing Centrifuge Planetary Drive system. The system must meet specific performance specifications, including a power output of 3.5 MW, a maximum rotational speed of 45 RPM, and a peak torque of 1153 kNM. The contractor must provide a plan to minimize downtime and ensure operational continuity. The project includes engineering design, hardware procurement, on-site installation, and final safety validation. • The contractor must possess a direct, active purchasing line and authorized sales channel with ABB. • The contractor must demonstrate authorized engineering and software support capabilities. • The contractor must provide a comprehensive recommended and quoted spare part list for the existing ACS6000 drive. • The contractor must deliver fully costed plans and technical design strategies for both modernization and replacement solutions.
