Woody Island and at the Kodiak ATCT Remedial Investigation

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) is seeking a contractor to perform a remedial investigation (RI) at multiple locations on Woody Island and at the Kodiak ATCT. The contractor will be responsible for investigating the presence, severity, and extent of contamination in soil and groundwater at concentrations that exceed applicable cleanup criteria. The RI activities will include soil and groundwater sampling, soil screening, and monitoring well installation/development/sampling. The contractor must use allotted samples to delineate the lateral and vertical extent of all previously indicated sources of contamination exceeding applicable cleanup levels. The investigation must be guided by direct read field instruments, historical information, and professional judgment. The contractor must also provide all equipment, supplies, and labor required to perform the RI activities. Key aspects of the job include: • Performing RI activities at multiple locations on Woody Island and at the Kodiak ATCT • Investigating the presence, severity, and extent of contamination in soil and groundwater • Using allotted samples to delineate the lateral and vertical extent of all previously indicated sources of contamination • Providing all equipment, supplies, and labor required to perform the RI activities • Conducting analytical sampling for media and analytes listed at each feature of work • Delineating petroleum contamination at the former Woody Island Field Station and the Kodiak ATCT utilizing analytical sampling • Investigating non-petroleum contamination (PCBs, RCRA metals, etc.) at the former Woody Island Field Station
