The United States Coast Guard (USCG) is seeking information from industry on potential solutions for replacing the Rescue 21 system, which is a critical component of the National Search and Rescue (SAR) System. The USCG is looking for innovative solutions to address the challenges of the legacy system and enable the future capabilities of a modern Maritime Public and Tactical Communications (MPTC) system. The MPTC program aims to provide a robust platform that enables near-shore data connectivity, facilitates seamless interoperability with Federal, State, and Local partners, ensures effective data integration with enterprise systems, and enhances overall maritime domain awareness.
• The system should provide continuous VHF and UHF maritime communications coverage in inland, coastal, and offshore areas.
• The system should support maritime communications in the Sea Area A1 region, generally out to 20NM.
• The system should align with applicable USCG, DHS, and Department of Defense (DoD) enterprise system architectures.
• The system should present data to the USCG’s authoritative integrated data environment.
• The system should integrate with current and planned USCG systems.
