On-Call Transportation Engineering Services

The City of Modesto is seeking qualified transportation engineering firms to provide on-call transportation engineering services. The selected firms will be responsible for providing a range of services, including traffic engineering design, studies, and reports. The scope of work includes preparing plans, specifications, and estimates of costs of projects, conducting investigations, and preparing reports. The City intends to select two consultants for a period of two years with options for three one-year extensions. The selected firms will be required to demonstrate experience in transportation and traffic engineering design, studies, and reports, and must have the ability to work with City, State, and Federal funded projects. Some key responsibilities of the selected firms include: • Coordinating and facilitating project-related meetings • Responding to requests for information and approving submittals • Addressing design changes during construction • Providing as-built drawings at project completion • Working effectively with City staff and regulatory agencies • Presenting in public meetings and workshops • Preparing and researching competitive local, state, and federal grant programs • Coordinating with other design disciplines and regulatory agencies • Applying for and obtaining regulatory agency permits • Providing AutoCAD drafting services • Working with utility companies for overhead installation • Conducting traffic counts and reviewing roadway collisions • Simulating traffic flows through conceptual designs or roundabouts, traffic signals, and other roadway features • Rendering conceptual roadway designs, including roundabouts and grade-separated roadway features • Designing complete roundabout designs • Reviewing and providing comments on roadway design projects, including roundabouts
