The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service is seeking a contractor to mark and tag juvenile salmon and steelhead produced at the Coleman NFH Complex. The contractor must have specialized technical expertise in the operation of state-of-the-art AutoFish tagging systems. The Pacific States Marine Fisheries Commission (PSMFC) has been contracted to mark all juvenile salmon and steelhead produced at the Coleman NFH Complex since 2007 due to their unique technical expertise. The marking and tagging of fish using manual techniques is the only alternative to marking/tagging with the automated system, but it would result in an unacceptable delay in the speed of work, a significant increase in program cost, and decreased precision and effectiveness.
• The contractor must have access to an Autofish tagging system and provide personnel with the unique technical expertise to operate the Autofish tagging systems.
• The contractor must be able to mark and tag juvenile salmon and steelhead produced at the Coleman NFH Complex.
• The contractor must be able to provide the services in a timely and cost-effective manner.
