Prosser Hatchery Sole Source Presolicitation Notice

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Portland District will award a sole‑source contract to the Confederated Tribes and Bands of the Yakama Nation to operate the Prosser Hatchery for the acclimation and release of up to 1.31 million Chinook salmon juveniles as part of mitigation for The Dalles and John Day dams. The work involves receiving fish from other hatcheries, rearing them in the hatchery’s ponds, and releasing them into the Yakima River during prescribed windows. This is a short‑term, seasonal environmental service focused on fish production, compliance with federal wildlife recovery mandates, and coordination with multiple agencies. • Provide acclimation, rearing, and release of 1.1 M sub‑yearling and 210 K yearling Chinook juveniles plus 600 K smolts. • Perform activities at Prosser Hatchery (Yakima River, WA) from March through June each year. • Must meet strict federal biological‑opinion and mitigation requirements; only the Yakama Nation’s facilities can be used.
