Piston Rod Ceramic Hard Coating

The Puget Sound Naval Shipyard and Intermediate Maintenance Facility (PSNS & IMF) intends to award a sole-source firm fixed price contract for the piston rod ceramic hard coating of four retractable bow plane lock-in lock-out piston rods. The work requires specialized skilled personnel with knowledge, expertise, and specialized equipment. The contractor will be responsible for cleaning, blasting, and recoating/sealing the piston rods, as well as applying a new ceramic coating. The period of performance is estimated to be from 11/24/2025 to 01/31/2026. • The contractor must have experience with ceramic coating application and have the necessary equipment and facilities to perform the work. • The contractor must submit facility qualifications and certifications with their proposal. • The contractor must follow NAVSEA approved procedures and guidelines. • The Government will utilize a Quality Assurance Surveillance Plan (QASP) to verify the contractor's performance.
