Deep Creek Bridge Maintenance Notice of Intent - Sole Source

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) - Norfolk District intends to issue a contract action on a sole source basis to Archer Western Construction (AWC) for the maintenance of the Deep Creek Bridge. The bridge is currently under construction, and AWC is the construction prime and Designer of Record. The contract action is for the preventative and corrective maintenance of the bridge prior to its official acceptance and transfer of ownership to the City of Chesapeake. • The maintenance functions will be performed to ensure the open portions of the bridge remain in good condition and to mitigate future warranty issues. • AWC possesses unique knowledge and expertise on the mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems that operate the bridge. • The estimated ultimate completion date for the original contract is January 2028. • Responses to the Notice of Intent will be considered by the Government to determine whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
