Urgent Beach Nourishment Cape May Inlet to Lower Township Cape May, Cape May County, NJ

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Philadelphia District, is conducting a market research survey for an urgent beach nourishment project in Cape May, New Jersey. The project involves pumping and placing 600,000 cubic yards of sand onto the beach at two locations. The contract work will include pre-placement condition surveys and the placement of sand from two borrow areas. The construction is to be completed no later than July 1, 2026. • The project is located on the Atlantic coast of New Jersey, extending from the Cape May Inlet southwest jetty to the 3rd Ave terminal groin in Cape May City. • The contract work will consist of a base bid to conduct pre-placement condition surveys and pump/place 600,000 cubic yards of sand from two borrow areas. • Options to place additional sand (100,000 cubic yards) from the same borrow areas will also be included. • The estimated magnitude of this project is between $10,000,000 and $20,000,000.
