Description
The Elkhart County Highway Department is seeking a qualified contractor to fully rehabilitate Bridge 253 on County Road 1 over Baugo Creek. The work includes demolition of the existing prestressed concrete superstructure, construction of a new adjacent non‑composite prestressed concrete box‑beam bridge, associated roadway improvements, guardrail installation, waterproofing, utility coordination, and site restoration. The contract is a fixed‑price, unit‑price hybrid with a performance bond equal to 100 % of the contract price and a 10 % bid bond. Bids must be submitted sealed by March 23 2026, with construction anticipated to begin after a Notice to Proceed on or after July 6 2026 and to reach substantial completion by November 2 2026.
