Behavioral Health Consultant

The Saratoga County Department of Social Services is seeking a Behavioral Health Consultant to work alongside Child Protective Services (CPS) and preventive services caseworkers to identify and support the behavioral health needs of adults and children where substance abuse is an issue. The consultant will be responsible for conducting screenings, developing plans of safe care, providing clinical assessments, and facilitating meetings with service providers and family members. The ideal candidate will have experience working with families and individuals with mental health and substance abuse disorders, as well as knowledge of the Child Protective Services process and requirements. • The contract will be for a period of 1 year, with the option to extend annually subject to funding availability and mutual agreement. • The consultant will be required to work on-site at the Saratoga County Department of Social Services. • The consultant will be responsible for submitting reports to support the OCFS funding, including visits made with CPS and preventive services, plans of safe care developed and implemented, and screenings completed. • The consultant will be required to have reliable transportation and a New York driver's license. • The consultant will be required to have experience with motivational interviewing, family systems theory, and other treatment models.
