Description

The Terrebonne Parish Consolidated Government seeks contractors to stabilize the St. Louis Canal bank and protect an existing 20‑inch sewage force main from future flood‑related displacement. The work consists of clearing and grubbing the site, limited excavation, placement of fill material, installation of permanent rip‑rap, and driving 20‑foot timber pilings to secure the embankment. This civil‑engineering project aims to prevent recurrence of the failure experienced during Hurricane Francine. • Stabilize canal bank and protect 20‑in. sewage force main • Clear and grub, perform minimal excavation, and add engineered fill • Install permanent rip‑rap and 20‑ft timber pilings • Provide engineered drawings and specifications as part of the bid package

Budget estimate

$500,000 – $2,000,000

No contract value is disclosed in the solicitation documents. Based on the scope—clearing, limited excavation, fill placement, rip‑rap installation, and timber pilings for a 20‑inch force main—similar municipal embankment projects in Louisiana typically range from several hundred thousand dollars to low‑single‑million dollars, depending on material quantities, site access, and labor rates. A reasonable estimate would be between $500,000 and $2,000,000.
