Retrofit Construction - ADA Compliant Floating Paddle Craft Launch

The Escambia County Marine Resources Division is seeking bids for the construction of an ADA-compliant floating paddle craft launch at the Perdido Bay Boat launch. The project involves retrofitting an existing public boat ramp by adding a floating paddle craft launch that meets ADA requirements and complies with US Army Corps of Engineers and Florida Department of Environmental Protection permits. The contractor will be responsible for designing, fabricating, and installing the launch platform and gangway, including pilings, and ensuring that the structure can rise and fall with changing water levels. The contractor must also provide all necessary equipment and labor for the project. Key aspects of the project include: • Designing and building the launch platform and gangway with 6005-T5 marine grade aluminum • Ensuring the structure can withstand a 50 pounds per square foot live load rating • Providing corrosion protection, including a sacrificial anode • Meeting all ADA requirements and complying with US Army Corps of Engineers and Florida Department of Environmental Protection permits • Coordinating with Escambia County staff to ensure a smooth project execution
