Optical Transport Equipment Vendors

The Board of Education of St. Mary’s County, on behalf of St. Mary’s County Public Schools, is seeking qualified vendors to supply and install optical transport equipment to terminate fiber connections across the district’s network. The solution must be based on Ciena 3924 Service Delivery Switches and Ciena 5164 Service Aggregation Switches (or equivalent), and must include all accessories, perpetual software licenses, support, and management software. The award will be a one‑year contract with the option to extend up to four additional one‑year periods, and SMCPS may award the requirement in whole or in part. Minority Business Enterprises are encouraged to submit proposals. • Provide Ciena‑based (or equivalent) optical transport switches with full accessories and perpetual licensing. • Deliver, install, configure, and support the equipment for the SMCPS fiber network. • Offer ongoing technical support and software management throughout the contract term.
