REQUEST FOR QUALIFICATIONS FOR 4TH STREET PARK CONTRACT DOCUMENTS

The City of Mount Vernon is seeking a consultant to provide professional engineering, landscape architectural, and construction administration services for the 4th Street Park project. The project involves designing a Green Infrastructure system, developing a schematic plan, and preparing contract documents and specifications. The consultant will also be responsible for coordinating with Con Edison's proposed geothermal project for the site and ensuring that the two projects can co-exist. The project aims to address surface water and drainage challenges, enhance water quality, and revitalize the park's aesthetics. Key deliverables include a survey, tree inventory, site investigation, design development, and construction administration. • The project is funded through a New York State Environmental Facilities Green Infrastructure Project Grant and a New York State Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation Environmental Protection Fund grant. • The consultant will be required to submit a work plan, schedule, and budget as part of their proposal. • The City of Mount Vernon reserves the right to negotiate a reduced scope of services or terminate the RFQ process. • The contract is expected to have a term of approximately 12 months, with an option for the City to extend the agreement if additional time is needed to complete all deliverables. • The consultant will be required to provide progress reports, attend monthly progress meetings, and negotiate and recommend change orders as needed.
