Procurement Exemption for Designated Crisis Responders - PCSO Co-Responders Program

Pierce County is seeking a vendor to provide Designated Crisis Responders for a co-responder program with the Pierce County Sheriff's Office. The program includes the provision of multiple Designated Crisis Responders to respond to scenes involving citizens who may require behavioral health intervention. The services include conducting assessments, providing crisis intervention, coordinating referrals and services, and following up with individuals as appropriate. The contract amendment is expected to have an initial term of 24 months and an estimated cost of $4,399,520. • The vendor must employ Designated Crisis Responders as defined by the region's Behavioral Health Administrative Services Organization. • The vendor must be authorized by the region's BH-ASO to provide Designated Crisis Response to adults. • The vendor must obtain all necessary licenses and certifications necessary to maintain DCR status and lawfully provide behavioral health and intervention services. • The vendor must have the experience and ability to operate a DCR program in coordination with local law enforcement.
