The Colorado Parks and Wildlife (CPW) is seeking to purchase a new electrofishing boat to replace an aging 1998 model. The new boat must be a Smith-Root SR-16HX APEX Electrofishing Boat, which is a heavy-duty, semi-v bow hull boat with a 16-foot, 8-inch length and an 80-inch beam. The boat must have a custom-formed chine, closed-cell marine grade polyurethane flotation foam, and a watertight finish. The boat will be used for fishery management duties on multiple reservoirs and lakes in Colorado. The CPW has budgeted $126,421.70 for this purchase.
Key features of the boat include:
• 16-foot, 8-inch length and 80-inch beam
• Custom-formed chine and closed-cell marine grade polyurethane flotation foam
• Watertight finish and all-welded seams
• Integrated Captain's Command Center with powder-coated console and shatterproof windscreen
• Electrofishing system with programmable output waveform and built-in scientific data monitoring and recording
• Trailer with aluminum frame, bunk, and LED lights
The CPW is seeking a sole source contract award for this purchase, but other vendors may respond to challenge the sole source status.
