The Department of Conservation and Recreation (DCR) announces its intention of a proposed partnership with the Massachusetts Woodlands Institute to help achieve the goals of the Forest Stewardship Program as outlined in the State Forest Action Plan. The goal of providing contract funding for the Massachusetts Woodlands Institute is to allow for increased staff and administrative time to assist DCR in coordination of the annual internship program.
• The grant award sought is for the period of 12/1/2025 to 12/31/2026
• The grant amount is estimated to be $30,000
• The Massachusetts Woodlands Institute will be cited as a sub-grantee of the FY24 USFS Forest Stewardship Program & Forest Resources Management Grant for the DCR Service Forestry Program
• The Massachusetts Woodlands Institute will hire a contract employee to work for the timeframe feasible given the grant funding and needs of the DCR Internship program
