Description

The United States Air Force is conducting market research to identify potential sources that possess the expertise, capabilities, and experience to repair the Pilot Warning Alarm Set, also known as the Revolutions per Minute (RPM) Limit Detector. This part is utilized by the USAF TH-1H helicopter and is considered a commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) item. The Government is looking for vendors who have experience servicing this part or a similar commercial version, and who can perform the necessary repairs. The requirements include repairing 12 unserviceable units that are in AF inventory. • The Pilot Warning Alarm Set monitors the speed of the rotor head and the engine, and alerts the pilot if either has a rate of speed that is too low. • The part is utilized by the USAF TH-1H helicopter, which is located at Fort Rucker, AL and has a fleet size of 27 aircraft. • The Government relies on vendors to have performed similar-type work in the DoW or industry. • Repair shops that use industry-developed technical procedures may also be counted as a legitimate contender for this work-scope.

Budget estimate

$60,000 – $240,000

The budget for this opportunity is difficult to estimate, as the document does not provide a specific amount. However, considering the scope of work, which involves repairing 12 unserviceable units of the Pilot Warning Alarm Set, the budget could be substantial. The cost of repairing each unit may range from $5,000 to $20,000, depending on the complexity of the repair and the vendor's expertise. Therefore, the total budget could be between $60,000 and $240,000. Factors that may influence the likely payment range include the vendor's experience, the level of competition, and the Government's budget for this project.
