Alabama Surface Mining Commission is seeking a qualified contractor to perform reclamation work at the Crescent Valley Mine (Sections 25 & 26, Walker County, AL). The effort includes grading to original contours, construction/repair of diversion berms, reburying a coal stockpile with lime and cover, replacing two 36‑inch HDPE spill‑pipe sections, installing riprap‑based downdrain structures, and seeding/revegetating the disturbed areas. All work must be completed within the stipulated time frames, comply with state and federal environmental regulations, and be documented with receipts, permits, and inspection reports. • Grading and berm construction to be finished within 90 calendar days after receipt of PO and NPDES permit. • Coal stockpile rebury (4 ft cover) with lime placed between 1‑ft lifts. • Installation of 2 × 36″ × 60′ HDPE double‑wall pipes in Basin 013. • Placement of 2,254 tons of Class II riprap for downdrain and check‑dam structures. • Seeding/revegetation of ~5 acres using specified seed mixes, lime, and fertilizer, completed within 30 calendar days after grading approval. Compliance with ADEM storm‑water permitting, on‑site Commission representation during seed/fertilizer application, and detailed documentation are mandatory. The contract will be awarded to the lowest responsible bidder not exceeding a ceiling of $142,830.
