FY26 Explosive Operations Building, Kirtland Air Force Base (KAFB), Bernalillo County, New Mexico

The project involves the construction of an 11,623 SM building with a 22,487 SM drive-thru munitions bay at Kirtland Air Force Base in New Mexico. The facility will have three dedicated operational bays for munitions inspection, small arms handling, and pyrotechnic operations, as well as administrative and support areas. The building will be constructed from heavily reinforced concrete to provide durability and blast resistance. The project also includes supporting facilities such as grading and drainage systems, concrete apron, and comprehensive utility connections. • The building will have a specialized blast-resistant frangible roof system and a cast-in-place concrete foundation. • The project will include a generator to ensure uninterrupted power supply. • The facility will have administrative and support areas for offices, mechanical systems, and personnel. • The project will incorporate comprehensive utility connections such as domestic water supply and waste management infrastructure.
