THE CITY OF MONTEREY, CALIFORNIA REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS ON-CALL MECHANICAL ENGINEERING SERVICES

The City of Monterey is seeking proposals from qualified firms or individuals to provide On-call Mechanical Engineering Services for projects within the City. The selected organization will provide the full range of services including mechanical engineering calculations, HVAC equipment sizing, selection design and calculations, preparation of plans, specifications and cost estimates, project management, technical support, and construction inspection. The term of the agreement will be for an initial one-year period with an option for four annual extensions. The aggregate not-to-exceed fee for all tasks provided during the initial one-year term of the Agreement shall be $500,000.00. Some key tasks and services that the City may need include: * Design of construction drawings and/or specifications * Feasibility studies, technical reports, studies, and presentations * Mechanical / Electrical Systems Assessment * Energy and greenhouse gas reduction strategies * Renewable energy solutions * HVAC Design / Upgrades / Replacement and reconfiguration * Title 24 Energy Documentation * Systems upgrade including code compliance and PG&E requirements * System life cycle cost estimates * Fire protection systems * Security systems and alarms * Audio visual systems * Pump station equipment instrumentation * Boilers, condensers, chillers * Building management systems, and controls system design * LEED Commissioning, and Commissioning Support * Plumbing and piping systems * Telecommunications systems * Preliminary engineering services * Construction cost estimates * Design alternatives analysis * Production, design plans, specifications, and estimates (PS&E) * Public bid and construction support activities * Peer review mechanical design prepared by others
