A/E SERVICES FOR A NEW FISHERIES SCIENCE RESEARCH BUILDING

The Virginia Institute of Marine Science is seeking architectural and engineering services to design and construct a new 42,350‑square‑foot Fisheries Science Research Building in Gloucester Point, VA. The facility will replace an aging laboratory, consolidate departmental functions, and house a major fish collection museum while meeting LEED standards and supporting the university’s carbon‑neutrality goals. • Design of state‑of‑the‑art research labs, fish processing facilities, climate‑controlled storage, and faculty offices. • Integration of the Nunnally Ichthyology Collection and Necropsy Lab as a premier repository for freshwater and coastal fish specimens. • Compliance with LEED building requirements and alignment with William & Mary’s 2030 carbon‑neutrality target. • Coordination with the university’s portal for submission of bids and related documents. • Project will be managed under a professional services contract, requiring A/E expertise.
