Description

The Social Psychology Program at the U.S. National Science Foundation supports research and infrastructure to advance basic knowledge in social psychology. The program invites research and infrastructure proposals that advance knowledge of how human behavior is influenced by macro- and micro-level social forces. Proposed research should carry strong potential for creating transformative advances in the basic understanding of human social behavior. The program accepts regular research proposals, including Faculty Early Career Development (CAREER) proposals, proposals for research in undergraduate institutions (RUI), rapid response research proposals (RAPID), and early-concept grants for exploratory research (EAGER). Some key areas of focus include: • Social cognition, attitudes, and social influence • Motivation, decision making, and group dynamics • Emotions, prosocial behavior, and health-related behavior • Personality and individual differences • Interdisciplinary, multidisciplinary, and convergent research approaches
