RENEWAL OF FUGRO MARINESTAR DGNSS SATELLITE POSITIONING DATA SUBSCRIPTION SERVICE

The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) is seeking to renew its Fugro Marinestar DGNSS satellite positioning data subscription service. The service is required for the accurate creation of NOAA navigational charts. The current system operates two DRIX uncrewed systems with installed Septentrio receivers, and the data provided via the receivers requires precise point positioning via a differential global navigation satellite system (DGNSS) to be accurately chartable. The renewal of the service is intended to be negotiated on a sole source basis with Fugro USA Marine Inc. * The service requires national coverage and accuracy for navigational charting. * Other vendors would require multiple, area-specific subscriptions to gain comparable coverage at an unreasonable cost to the government. * The service is a requirement for the accurate creation of NOAA navigational charts. * Fugro is the sole vendor of the differential global navigation satellite system correction service (Marinestar) with complete national coverage in the United States.
