Washtenaw Community College is seeking a qualified general‑contractor to replace the existing revolving door at the Student Center’s north entry with a new sliding‑door vestibule system, including demolition, structural framing, insulated glazing, door‑hardware, and coordination of mechanical, electrical, and life‑safety systems. The work must be performed primarily on third‑shift nights, with an optional alternate for weekday night work, and must comply with Michigan state building, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and energy codes. An allowance of $40,000 is provided for scope changes, and mandatory alternates 1 & 2 must be priced.
• Demolition of existing revolving door and installation of new automatic sliding doors with break‑away egress.
• Structural support (HSS 4×4×3/8”) and exterior envelope upgrades (insulated glazing, Kawneer storefront, MAPES insulated panel optional).
• Full MEP coordination (HVAC, electrical, fire‑alarm, access‑control) and compliance with prevailing‑wage requirements.
• Mandatory 3rd‑shift demolition; project start 15 Aug 2026, finish by 10 Mar 2027 (≈7 months).
• Bid submission by 2 PM EDT 7 May 2026; mandatory site visit on 13 Apr 2026.
