Description

The ChronoQuantum Fiber Timing Integrity Monitor is a technology developed by Los Alamos National Laboratory that provides an independent layer of timing assurance for fiber-linked infrastructure. The technology uses correlated photon pairs to verify the integrity of fiber links and can detect, classify, and localize residual drift in real-time. The monitor can be used in various applications, including high energy physics, quantum networking, telecommunications, and positioning and navigation assurance. • The technology provides an independent timing observable rooted in quantum physics. • It overlays cleanly on existing White Rabbit, PTP, and fiducial timing systems without replacing them. • It pinpoints the root cause of drift by distinguishing endpoint electronics from fiber-path, filter, or environmental effects. • It supports operation over standard telecom fiber and DWDM equipment, making field deployment practical. • It scales from two-node links to mesh and facility-scale networks with redundant sources, detectors, and failover modes. • It offers flexible operating modes from passive monitoring through operator alerts to autonomous correction recommendations.

Budget estimate

$100,000 – $1,000,000

The budget for this opportunity is difficult to estimate, as the document does not specify a particular amount or range. However, considering the technology is a licensing opportunity for a cutting-edge innovation, the potential budget could be substantial. Factors that may influence the likely payment range include the terms of the licensing agreement, the scope of the technology's application, and the market demand for the technology. A rough estimate could be in the range of $100,000 to $1,000,000, depending on the specifics of the agreement.
