Description

The United States Secret Service is seeking a contractor to provide the design, offsite prefabrication, transportation, and onsite installation/construction of two adjoining open, 12-point/lane, 50-yard, Modular Firing Range (MFR) systems. The MFR systems shall be designed and constructed to allow for future dismantling, relocation, and reassembly at alternate locations within the boundaries of the James J. Rowley Training Center campus or other designated federal property. The contractor shall ensure that all offsite and onsite activities are coordinated to minimize disruption to Government operations and to comply with the project schedule. The MFR systems shall provide various capabilities, including personnel being able to safely fire at the target area from a distance of 36” to the maximum range distance from anywhere on the range without obstruction, and the range must have no continuous “Firing stalls” except ballistic/bullet-proof glass panels separating the shooters at the firing line. The contractor shall also provide training on how to operationally control the system, with end-user manuals. Some key features of the MFR systems include: • 12-point/lane, 50-yard firing range • Ballistic/bullet-proof glass panels separating the shooters at the firing line • Removable barricades to simulate shooting around and over obstructions • Interior of the range floor and walls coated with commercial grade protective material • Ballistics performance of the walls, floors, and ceiling to redirect small caliber rounds downrange without penetration and ricochet • Fire protection/suppression system in compliance with NFPA regulations • Range caution, warning, and hazmat signs in accordance with OSHA standards • Land-line communication points and loudspeaker system • Complete interior sound absorption system in compliance with OSHA standards and regulations • Integrated Heating, Ventilation and Air Condition (HVAC) systems • External lighting at the front and rear of the unit for agent/employee safety and maintenance purposes

Budget estimate

$1,000,000 – $5,000,000

The budget for this project is not explicitly stated in the document. However, based on the scope of work and the requirements for the Modular Firing Range systems, it is likely that the budget will be in the range of $1 million to $5 million. This estimate is based on the fact that the project involves the design, prefabrication, transportation, and installation of two MFR systems, which suggests a significant investment in materials, labor, and equipment. Additionally, the project requires compliance with various federal regulations and standards, which may also impact the overall cost.
