Description
The Borough of Atlantic Highlands is seeking a qualified municipal attorney to provide comprehensive legal services for the 2021 calendar year. The attorney will handle routine council matters, prepare ordinances, and be available for extraordinary legal work on an hourly basis. Compensation is structured as a fixed‑salary quote plus hourly rates for extra services, with the fixed‑salary benchmark at $25,000 per year and hourly benchmarks of $130 for attorney time and $50 for paralegal time. The selection will be based on experience (minimum 8 years in NJ municipal law), ethical standing, and proximity to the Borough.
• Core services include attending all council meetings, drafting resolutions, and reviewing routine contracts.
• Extraordinary services (litigation, tax appeals, complex projects) are billed hourly at rates to be proposed by the respondent.
• Proposal deadline: 12 Dec 2020 11:00 a.m.; award expected 1 Jan 2021; contract term is one calendar year.
