F--Notice of Intent to Sole Source

The U.S. Department of the Interior, Bureau of Safety and Environmental Enforcement, intends to negotiate a sole source contract with Water Mapping, LLC, for the detection of ocean surface fluid contaminants with multispectral sensor technology. The project aims to build on previous results and develop a method to characterize Dielectric Fluid (DF) thicknesses in near real-time. Water Mapping, LLC, has demonstrated unique capabilities in this area, with over 20 years of experience in providing high-quality geoscience services. The contractor will use its own image processing computer lab, sensors, and Uncrewed Aerial Systems (UAS) to develop research and respond to oil spill emergency situations. Some key aspects of this project include: • Detection of ocean surface fluid contaminants using multispectral sensor technology • Characterization of Dielectric Fluid (DF) thicknesses in near real-time • Use of image processing computer lab, sensors, and Uncrewed Aerial Systems (UAS) • Provision of high-quality geoscience services for private and public sector clients • Response to oil spill emergency situations
