Description

The U.S. Army is conducting a market survey to assess domestic industry interest and manufacturing capability to produce future Armored Multi-Purpose Vehicle (AMPV) vehicles. The AMPV is a tracked vehicle that replaces the Army's Armored Personnel Carrier (M113) Family of Vehicles. Respondents are asked to provide information about their experience and ability to produce heavy ground combat vehicles, including welding, integrating government-furnished communication systems, and testing. • The market survey is for planning and informational purposes only and does not constitute a commitment by the U.S. Government to procure any items or services. • The submission of information is strictly voluntary, and the U.S. Government will not reimburse contractors for any costs incurred. • Respondents are asked to provide information about their facilities, tools, and equipment, as well as their experience with production qualification testing and follow-on production testing. • The U.S. Government is interested in assessing the domestic industry's ability to produce the AMPV vehicles, including the five variants: General Purpose, Medical Evacuation, Medical Treatment, Mission Command, and Mortar Carrier.

Budget estimate

$500,000,000 – $2,000,000,000

The budget for this contract is difficult to estimate, as the document does not provide specific information on the contract value or the production quantities. However, based on the complexity of the project and the requirements for the production of heavy ground combat vehicles, it is likely that the contract value will be in the hundreds of millions of dollars. The U.S. Army's budget for the AMPV program is expected to be significant, and the contract award is likely to be a major procurement. The estimated budget range could be between $500 million and $2 billion, depending on the production quantities and the contract terms. However, this is a rough estimate and should be taken as a rough order of magnitude. Factors that may influence the likely payment range include the production quantities, the contract terms, and the complexity of the project.
