Description
The Undergraduate Jet Training System (UJTS) program is seeking information from industry partners to support the development of a new jet training system. The program has two overarching goals: Speed to Initial Operational Capability (IOC) and Quality of Training. The Government expects to release a Request for Proposal (RFP) in late February 2026, with a projected Contract Award in 2QFY27. The RFP will be for the Engineering, Manufacturing, and Development (EMD) of the UJTS solution, as well as the Procurement of the first lot of Low-Rate Initial Production (LRIP) aircraft and limited quantities of ground-based training systems. Key aspects of the program include:
* The development of a new jet training system to replace the current T-45C
* The provision of ground-based training systems to support the new jet training system
* The requirement for the contractor to perform a flight Operations Program to facilitate the achievement of approximately 35 flight hours per month per aircraft
* The anticipated production schedule, which includes LRIP 1 – 7 aircraft, LRIP 2 – 12 aircraft, LRIP 3 – 20 aircraft, and FRP 25 aircraft per year, with a total production of approximately 216 aircraft
* The importance of cybersecurity and the need for the contractor to provide a cybersecurity strategy
* The requirement for the contractor to provide a maintenance strategy and to support a Product Support Analysis as part of the awarded contract
