Description
The City of Salina seeks a qualified vendor to assume full management and operation of its municipal animal shelter, encompassing administration, animal husbandry, veterinary services, adoption programs, financial reporting, and facility maintenance. The contractor will be responsible for licensing compliance, 24/7 public access, staffing, animal intake and disposition tracking, and delivering comprehensive annual reports while adhering to city ordinances and court orders.
• Administer all shelter functions, including licensing, record‑keeping, public hours, and quarterly/bi‑annual meetings with the City.
• Provide daily animal care, veterinary services, behavior assessments, and manage both adoptable and non‑adoptable animals (including dangerous and feral categories).
• Develop and run volunteer, foster, and adoption outreach programs, maintain a public website with animal profiles, and ensure transparent financial handling with audit‑ready records.
