The U.S. Embassy Namibia is pleased to announce the start of the U.S. Ambassadors Fund for Cultural Preservation (AFCP) 2023 Grants Program. The program supports the preservation of archaeological sites, historic buildings and monuments, museum collections, and forms of traditional cultural expression. The application process involves two rounds: concept notes and full project applications. The program aims to promote cultural preservation and support U.S. foreign policy goals. Key activities may include anastylosis, conservation, consolidation, documentation, inventory, preventive conservation, restoration, and stabilization.
• The program is open to not-for-profit organizations, public and private educational institutions, and similar institutions.
• The program will prioritize projects that support U.S. policy goals and host-country or community goals.
• The program will consider applications that support disaster risk reduction for cultural heritage in disaster-prone areas or post-disaster cultural heritage recovery.
• The program will complement the Cultural Heritage Center in the Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs or public diplomacy programs.
