Gas Station Renovation Naval Base Kingsbay

The Camden County Board of Commissioners is issuing an RFP for the complete renovation of the NEX Mini Mart fuel station located on Naval Submarine Base Kings Bay. The scope includes de‑commissioning and removal of four existing underground storage tanks, excavation, hazardous‑waste handling, installation of four new double‑wall 10,000‑gallon USTs, new product piping, electrical and control systems, a Veeder‑Root leak‑detection/automatic tank gauge system, Gilbarco fuel dispensers, Verifone POS registers, canopy re‑branding and LED lighting, and full commissioning and training. The work must comply with EPA, Georgia EPD, DoD, NFPA, NEC, and military security requirements. A mandatory pre‑bid meeting is scheduled for 10 Oct 2026, and all questions are due 5 Oct 2026. The contract requires performance and payment bonds equal to 100 % of the contract amount, $1 M minimum liability insurance, and a 90‑day construction schedule broken into six phases, with final completion no later than 30 Apr 2027.
