National Quantum and Nanotechnology Infrastructure

The National Quantum and Nanotechnology Infrastructure (NQNI) program aims to establish an open-access network of research facilities to advance critical and emerging technologies. The program will select a network of university user facility sites based on their technical capabilities, instrumentation, and plans for external use, education, training, outreach, and workforce development. The selected sites will focus on areas such as quantum information science and engineering, nanoscience, nanoengineering, and nanotechnology. Some key points to consider: • The program is open to U.S.-based campuses of institutions of higher education eligible to submit to this solicitation. • The Principal Investigator must hold a tenured or tenure-track position or a full-time, paid appointment to a research position. • The program will select 16 sites, with an estimated total funding of $100,000,000. • The submission deadline is May 14, 2026.
