Q999--Radioactive Waste Removal and Disposal - Indianapolis, IN

The Department of Veterans Affairs is seeking information from qualified contractors for the removal and disposal of radioactive waste from the Richard L. Roudebush VA Medical Center in Indianapolis, IN. The contractor will be responsible for providing all necessary packaging, transportation, and disposal of the waste in accordance with Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) and Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations. The contract will have a base year and four one-year option periods. • The contractor must have an active Radioactive Materials License granted by the NRC or an Agreement State. • The contractor must provide a template for spent sealed sources and radioactive waste summary/inventory forms. • The contractor must provide a current uniform low-level radioactive waste manifest. • The contractor must take all necessary radioactive measurements and ensure that packages are properly labeled. • The contractor must coordinate radioactive waste pick-up services with the VA Medical Center Radiation Safety Staff. • The contractor must provide a written notification of receipt of radioactive shipments and a final disposal certificate.
