Description

The City of Austin, d/b/a Austin Energy, is seeking qualified contractors to provide three-phase pad-mount distribution transformers on an as-needed basis. The contract will be for an initial term of 24 months, with the option to extend for up to three additional 12-month periods. The contractor will be required to comply with the latest version of the E-0649 specification and provide transformers that meet the City's requirements. The contractor will also be responsible for delivering the transformers to the City's designated location and providing a shipping or delivery ticket with each delivery. Key personnel will be designated by both the City and the contractor, and any changes to these personnel will require approval. • The contractor must be a manufacturer, authorized distributor, or supplier of the product offered. • The contractor must supply a list of estimated quantities of all items offered in the pricing submittal on an annual basis. • The contractor must deliver the transformers to the City's designated location, which is the Decker Yard at 10001 Decker Lane, Austin, TX 78724. • The contractor must provide a shipping or delivery ticket with each delivery, which includes the Austin Energy purchase order number, item number, description of each item, manufacturer quantity, item serial number, and manufacturer part or catalog number. • The contractor will be considered to have failed to perform if it does not deliver the product within the on-time delivery window, which is between five days before and including the delivery date.

Budget estimate

$200,000 – $2,500,000

The budget for this opportunity is difficult to estimate, as the document does not provide a specific dollar amount for the contract. However, based on the fact that the City is seeking a contractor to provide three-phase pad-mount distribution transformers on an as-needed basis, it is likely that the budget will be in the hundreds of thousands to millions of dollars. The budget will depend on the number of transformers purchased and the price per unit. Assuming an average price of $10,000 to $50,000 per transformer, and an estimated annual purchase of 10 to 50 units, the total budget for the 24-month contract term could range from $200,000 to $2.5 million.
