Description

The Kansas City Board of Public Utilities (KCBPU) is seeking qualified vendors to replace the Nearman N1 Generator Step‑Up Transformer. The existing unit is a 280 MVA transformer with a high‑side voltage of 161 kV (grounded wye) and a low‑side voltage of 19 kV (delta). The replacement must match the existing dimensions to accommodate the current low‑side isophase bus and high‑side overhead transmission line. This project involves engineering, procurement, and installation of a high‑voltage power transformer, including coordination with the utility’s existing infrastructure and compliance with applicable safety and regulatory standards. • Replace a 280 MVA, 161 kV/19 kV step‑up transformer at the Nearman site. • Provide a transformer that matches the existing physical footprint and interface connections. • Deliver engineering, testing, delivery, installation, and commissioning services in accordance with KCBPU specifications.
