Notice is hereby given that sealed bids will be received for the project named below by the Meridian Public School DistrictProject Identification: 24067 Harris Complex Renovations.Project Location: 3951 12th Street, Meridian, MS 39307.Owner: Meridian Public School District, 1019 25th Avenue, Meridian, MS 38391.Owner's Representative: Dr. Amy J. Carter, Superintendent.Architect: Dale | Bailey, An Association, One Jackson Place, Suite 250, 188 East Capitol Street, Jackson, MS 39201-2100.Project Description: This project includes the renovation of an existing school campus into a new office complex for the Meridian Public School District. This project includes converting an existing cafeteria into a new boardroom and executive session office. That will require demo of existing building and construction of new restrooms for the boardroom and routing new plumbing through an existing slab. The project also includes paint several rooms throughout the campus, new flooring in several locations of the campus, and updating some sidewalks for better ADA access to the boardroom. One building will require complete removal and replacement of a new TPO roofing system. The project also requires historic restoration to existing steel windows on the cafeteria as well as pressure washing the cafeteria and sidewalk around the cafeteria.BID SUBMITTAL AND OPENINGThe owner will receive sealed lump sum bids until the bid time and date at the location given below. Bid proposals must be delivered in a sealed envelope marked plainly on the outside of the envelope with the following: "Harris Complex Renovations; Project number 24067 to be opened March12, 2026" Envelope shall be addressed to Dr. Amy J. Carter, Superintendent of Schools, 1019 25th Avenue, Meridian, MS 38391.In addition, the envelope shall list the bidder’s Company name, Company address and all applicable state and local license and registration numbers of the bidder. Envelopes not so marked are submitted at the risk of the bidder as the Owner and Architect assume no responsibility for the premature opening of any bid envelope by any employee of the Owner or Architect. The Owner will consider bids prepared in compliance with the Instructions to Bidders issued by Owner, and delivered as follows:In addition, Electronic bids may be submitted through the website www.dalebaileyplans.com. Electronic bids are not required by the MPSD but offered as another means to submit a bid. Single stipulated sum bids will be received for all work required by the contract documents in accordance with the Instructions to BiddersBid Date: March 17, 2026.Bid Time: 2:00 p.m., local time.Location: Meridian Public School District, 1019 25th Avenue, Meridian, MS 39301.Proposals shall be submitted in duplicate only upon the blank proposal forms provided with the specifications and must be accompanied by Proposal Security in the form of a Certified Check or acceptable Bid Bond in the amount equal to at least five percent (5%) of the Base Bid: such security to be forfeited as liquidated damages, not penalty, by any bidder who fails to carry out the terms of the proposal, execute a contract and post-Performance and Payment Bonds in the form and amount within the time specified. The Bid Bond, if used, shall be payable to the Owner.Bids will be thereafter publicly opened and read aloud.BID SECURITYBid security shall be submitted with each bid in the amount of 5 percent of the bid amount. No bids may be withdrawn for a period of 90 days after opening of bids.
