Cost Share for Federal Funding Opportunities Carbon Removal Innovation Support System (CRISP)

The California Energy Commission (CEC) is offering a cost‑share grant under the Carbon Removal Innovation Support Program (CRISP) to fund advanced direct‑air‑capture (DAC) technologies and related research, development, demonstration, and pilot projects. Eligible applicants are tribal governments, and projects that serve disadvantaged or low‑income communities receive scoring preference. The CEC will fund up to 50 % of eligible project costs, with a total pool of $15 million and a performance period of four years. Applicants must provide matching funds equal to the CEC contribution and must align with an eligible federal Funding Opportunity Announcement (FOA). No letter of intent is required.
