Description
The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) is seeking information from sources capable of providing a commercial item solution for a Continuous Wave Parametric Oscillator (CW OPO) Laser System. The system should meet or exceed the specified minimum requirements, including a pump laser source, signal laser output, idler laser output, laser system control electronics, wavelength meter, and wavelength stabilization controls. The specifications include details on the tunable range, optical power, and linewidth for the signal and idler laser outputs, as well as requirements for the laser system control electronics and wavelength meter.
• The system must comprise a pump laser source, signal laser output, idler laser output, laser system control electronics, wavelength meter, and wavelength stabilization controls.
• The pump laser source should have a fiber-coupled pump laser output pickoff port with power greater than 0.5 mW.
• The signal laser output should have a tunable range inclusive of 1500 nm to 2000 nm, optical power greater than 1 mW, and a free running laser linewidth less than 1 MHz.
• The idler laser output should have a tunable range inclusive of 2300 nm to 4000 nm, optical power greater than 1 mW, and a free running laser linewidth less than 1 MHz.
• The laser system control electronics should be compatible with standard US electrical outlets and allow communication with a Windows-based personal computer.
• The wavelength meter should have a measurement range inclusive of 1000 nm to 2000 nm, absolute accuracy better than or equal to 200 MHz, and a measurement speed greater than or equal to 500 Hz.
