Description

The United States Naval Academy (USNA) is seeking information from potential vendors for the procurement of an Inductively-Coupled Plasma Optical Emission Spectroscopy (ICP-OES) Spectrometer with an autosampler. The system will be used to support the academic mission of the Department of Ocean and Atmospheric Sciences at the USNA. The ICP-OES Spectrometer will be capable of measuring minor and trace elements at low-to-mid part-per-billion (ppb) concentrations in natural waters and soil and sediment digestates. • The system must be operable using high-purity Argon as a carrier gas. • The system must come complete with software, an introduction system, a chiller for cooling, and standards required for installation and initial operation. • The system must have an autosampler capable of performing analysis on multiple samples (60 or greater) using a pre-programmed method. • The system must be able to be plumbed into existing ventilation systems with an air flow rate between 90-200 cfm. • The system software must be compatible with Windows 11 and licensed for operation on 3 or more computers.

Budget estimate

$50,000 – $200,000

The budget for this procurement cannot be directly estimated from the provided document, as it is a Request for Information (RFI) rather than a solicitation for a proposal. However, considering the complexity and the specialized nature of the ICP-OES Spectrometer with an autosampler, the cost could potentially range from $50,000 to $200,000. This estimation is based on the assumption that the system will include the spectrometer, autosampler, software, and necessary accessories for installation and operation. The actual cost may vary depending on the vendor, the specifics of the system, and any additional services or support required. Factors influencing the cost could include the quality and brand of the equipment, the level of training and support provided by the vendor, and any customizations or specific requirements of the USNA.
