Sources Sought Notice for Mid-IR Optical Frequency Comb

The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) is seeking information from sources that may be capable of providing Optical Frequency Comb Systems to support its research in metrology for materials purity, properties, and provenance. The systems should be able to perform broadband spectroscopy and spectroradiometer calibrations to enable improved reliability and growth in the space, defense, and satellite industries. The ideal system should have frequency comb laser sources in the infrared wavelength region, including the mid-wave infrared and far-wave infrared. • The system should be able to generate broadband spectral reference data of numerous molecular species. • The system should be able to evaluate dispersive spectrometer performance and establish traceable calibration protocols. • The system should be able to interrogate gas samples and provide accurate optical frequencies. • The system should be customizable to meet NIST's specifications.
